This month's Destination Spotlight is actually a Cruise Ship Spotlight!
Royal Caribbean's 21st ship, Liberty of the Seas, debuted this spring in Miami and is among the largest ships afloat.
At 160,000 tons, it can hold 4375 guests at full capacity!
To begin with, this ship offers a myriad of fitness, wellness and spa offerings. The giant fitness center is complete
with the addition of a pilates center and a boxing ring. Extensive pool areas feature fountains, pools, & hot tubs that
are cantilevered to hang over the side of the ship - very fun! The sports deck is quite popular with its surfing simulator,
a rock climbing wall, mini golf, basketball court, and indoor ice - skating rink.
The ship's Main Street is the Royal Promenade, which is an event in itself! It's great fun to check out all the shops
& restaurants there - you can even get a shave!
Dining and entertainment options are many on the Liberty. The main dining room is where the regular seatings for dinner
take place. There are also several alternate restaurants to choose from, including a Johnny Rockets! The bars and lounges
are numerous enough to appeal to everyone - there's a karaoke bar, a disco, cabaret lounge, a Mojito bar, and, of course,
the casino! And let's not forget the award - winning live shows on the ship, which take place each day in the beautiful Platinum
Theater.
As for the cabins, 1084 are oceanview and 842 of those have balconies. Each room has a very comfy queen sized bed and
a flat screen TV.
The Liberty's itinerary alternates between Eastern and Western Caribbean, and sails out of Miami year - round.
